Sharon comes to MultiSport Canada with a background in sport and recreation. During the day you can usually find her at her desk emailing or texting staff and volunteers as well as making sure all the permits and permissions are received to facilitate events.  Communication is key in her role.

Sharon has a long history in the Barrie area, living here most of her life. After graduating from Seneca College, she started working at Hardwood Hills in 1996 as a cross country ski and mountain bike instructor and soon after as Program Director and continues today working on and off at the facility in various capacities. In addition to MultiSport Canada, she works with Pulse Racing helping to run Mountain Bike events and coordinates a Youth Group that focuses on social justice.  Sharon was fortunate to be the Volunteer Coordinator for Mountain Bike during the Pan Am Games in 2015 at Hardwood Ski and Bike.

Sharon’s passion is the outdoors.  You can find her most days somewhere in the forest skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, running or riding her mountain bike.  A few notable highlights are taking part in a 16 days backpacking adventure through the Adirondacks mountain range, backing packing in the White Mountains, Kootenay National Park, Pukaskwa National Park and all over Ontario as well as sea kayaking in the Bay of Fundy.

Sharon’s best accomplishments are her two boys.  They bring joy and purpose to her life.  In 2016 she had the opportunity to fulfill one of her dreams which was to climb a mountain with her children and make it an annual trip now.  These experiences are some of her favourite moments with her children.

If you don’t find Sharon on a hike in the forest, you’ll find her at the Magic Kingdom or doing Crossfit at the “box” (aka the gym).
